Kingston Chung has been providing physio services to a dear 97 year old friend in a care facility. He has great skill knowing how to interact with the elderly. He is kind, encouraging, patient and compassionate. In addition, I receive regular, detailed updates about his sessions and I appreciate that he is willing to schedule his visits around my friend's nap times.

Hussam has been working with my grandma for years. Because of him, she has been able to continue living at home and being as independent as possible. Although, there has been some inevitable decline, it has been slow and not debilitating. She keeps consistent with her exercises and is more confident to walk outside with her walker. Our family is so grateful that our grandma has someone like Hussam to help her stay active as she ages. She's always happy to see him and his energy has beneficial to her mental and physical well being.

Hussam helped my mom (Debbie) through not one, but two, knee replacements. Both surgeries were successful and her rehab rigorous! She is now walking, driving, enjoying time with her grandson and even mowing the lawn! It was great to have the convenience of having someone come to the house and guide my through the early days - building her confidence early was such a key to her success. Hussam was always encouraging and positive. I always felt like my mom was in good hands and I'm so happy to see her pain free and thriving now. Thank you so much to Hussam and Physio2u 🙂

I reached out to Hussam for a potential workplace shadowing as I was interested in becoming a physiotherapist (currently a Kin). He was kind enough to allow me to accompany him on a typical work day. He was informative, helpful and took the time to give me some great advice regarding the profession. I really appreciated having someone to reach out to in order to see for myself what the profession entailed. Thank you Hussam for helping me out and being generous with your time!

Ever since Kingston started providing care and information to Helen along with helpful exercises, she has progressed to the point where she does not require as much medication as she usually does. In particular, the care he provides during outdoor walks had been most helpful.

James Zhou, Registered Physiotherapist White Rock, Surrey, North Delta
James Zhou, Registered Physiotherapist
White Rock, Surrey, North Delta

James’ Story – With a keen interest in physical activity, mechanics and fixing things, James inevitably gravitated towards a career in physiotherapy where he could combine all of the above into his daily life. Having come into close contact at an early age with the intense struggles of disability, pain and mental illness experienced by the people he volunteered and worked with, as well as lived with, he became committed to trying to relieve suffering in any way possible and growing to be a healer more so than a fixer. Empowering clients with the ability to heal themselves is a large part of his approach. James educates clients on how to be their own therapist in as many ways as possible and puts a strong emphasis on exercise therapy, drawing from his previous experience as a kinesiologist. He has worked in clinic and care home settings, the latter of which have become homes for him as well since he first walked into one as a volunteer. James is fluent in Mandarin and Gibberish (those who know, know).”

  • ...Client testimonial... We are very pleased. James is very very good. My mom likes him a lot.

Hussam Hakeem, Registered Physiotherapist

Vancouver, Surrey
Hussam graduated in 2013 from the Master of Physical Therapy program at the University of British Columbia. He also completed his Bachelor of Science from UBC in 2010, majoring in Neurological Sciences and minoring in English Literature. His experience includes working with clients in all fields of practice: neurological rehabilitation, orthopaedics, hand therapy, sports injuries, and geriatric medicine. Hussam is certified in Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS) /Functional Dry Needling and, when required, uses this technique to augment his current hands-on-approach to his therapy sessions. Hussam believes a client’s positive outlook is just as important as the therapy they receive – approaching a client’s therapy from a holistic perspective not only achieves balance, but also paves the way to a speedy recovery and return to function.

  • ...Client testimonial... I would just like to take a few moments to share my experience with Physio2u. I was in a serious car crash with multiple injuries, including many pelvic fractures, broken ribs, collapsed lungs and lots of soft tissue damage. After spending 1 month in the hospital. I came home in an ambulance on a stretcher. I thought I would be living in the lower part of my home and sleeping on the couch for 2 months. I met my physiotherapist Hussam that week. I cannot say enough good things about him. Within 20 minutes he had me up and walking 14 stairs to my bedroom. I could not believe it. Hussam was caring, compassionate, professional, but most of all motivating and completely knew his job. I have progressed from a walker to completely walking on my own now. I had serious doubts that I would be able to recover from my injuries, but with the help of Hussam I now now that I will be able to return to my former self. If anyone out there needs physio this is the company to go to.
